LACEY – In 16 years of coaching college softball, Rick Noren has had a player or two come through his programs like senior Morgan Klemm.
LACEY – As contagious as hitting can be, it’s been a big trend for Saint Martin’s softball team in recent games.
For Rick Noren, the glass was always half full at Pacific Lutheran University.
LACEY – Toussaint Tyler started friendly taunting with former Kentwood High School teammate Jeremy Green during warm-ups.
Brok Pendletons journey to Saint Martins University almost found a permanent detour. Pendleton, a 24-year-old forward, is the second oldest mens basketball player in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Theres certainly no good time to endure a five-game losing skid, much less during the final stretch of the regular season with playoff hopes still in the balance for the Saint Martins mens basketball team.
Lacey – Justin Brown was having a field day driving the lane, but it was his one long-range basket that ultimately won for Simon Fraser University.
LACEY – All else being equal in college basketball, bigger is better.
LACEY – Their competitive spark and positive play came in bits and pieces, but coach Tim Healy feels his Saint Martin’s women’s basketball team will eventually coalesce into a whole.
