Snoqualmie open for skiers this weekend

The Olympian • Published May 21, 2008

Memorial Day weekend is almost here, but don’t put away those skis and snowboards just yet.

The Summit at Snoqualmie will open the Alpental area of the resort for the holiday weekend -- from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The opening marks the longest season in 30 years at the resort.

There is plenty of snow on the slopes. There was 103 inches of snow at the base area and 137 inches at the summit Wednesday afternoon.

The resort will close for the summer after Memorial Day, so don’t let the chance for more skiing slide away.
