The event, involving participation from local police and fire departments, is a fundraiser for families in need from the community.
Judo
• LOCAL STUDENTS HONORED IN ACADEMICS: Three students from South Sound Judo were honored for their excellence in studies and attendance by the United States Judo Federation.
Crystal and Angela Pratt of Michael T. Simmons Elementary and Christian Williams of Tumwater Hill Elementary received a letter, certificate and patch from the USJF after their selection.
Soccer
• CLUBS START TO WRAP UP SEASON: The Blackhills boys under-14 squad defeated Federal Way United Saturday 3-1 from two goals by Connor Sigmon and a goal by Parker Newman.
The Blackhills boys under-12 team finished the fall season in first place of the Player Development League's Division 5. The team was undefeated with eight wins and two ties.
The South Sound Futbol Club's Girls '95 White team lost to LH Storm 3-0.
