LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM needs volunteers who have a few hours a week to spare, a genuine concern for vulnerable adults and dependable transportation. Trained volunteer ombudsmen listen to the concerns and questions of residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities or adult family homes. THURSTON COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO EMERGENCY SERVICE TEAM needs volunteers who want to help their neighbors and the community during disasters and who enjoy or are interested in learning about ham radio. NORTHWEST LIONS EYEGLASS RECYCLING CENTER in Lacey ( is an all-volunteer nonprofit that supplies used eyeglasses to those who do medical missions throughout the world. Volunteers are need to inspect and wash glasses, determine prescriptions, and prepare glasses for shipment. It also needs volunteers to serve in staff positions.
