Tonight's best bets

"The Polar Express," 8 p.m. on ABC. Based on a book by Chris Van Allsburg, 2004's animated "The Polar Express" stars the voice (and likeness) of Tom Hanks as the conductor of a mysterious train. On Christmas Eve, this train picks up a doubting little boy (Daryl Sabara) who doesn't believe Santa Claus exists. Thankfully, the conductor and the train are in charge of transporting disbelieving kids to the North Pole; once there, the boy receives a gift that only those who believe in Santa can ever receive.

"Las Vegas," 9 p.m. on NBC. NBC offers up a two-part, two-hour mega-episode of "Las Vegas" for your Friday night viewing pleasure. Big Ed (James Caan) and Danny (Josh Duhamel) have only 12 hours to save Delinda (Molly Sims) from her kidnappers - so they're forced to steal $50 million from the Montecito to keep her from being buried alive. Meanwhile, Mike (James Lesure) and Sam (Vanessa Marcil) try to figure out whether a Buddhist monk's winning streak is a scam.
