Name: Jenny Burwell
Volunteer’s activities include: Burwell volunteers at SafePlace where she helps survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through the protection order court process. In addition, Burwell enjoys bridge, hiking, reading, gardening and spending time with her two dogs.
This volunteer is special because: “Jenny has been volunteering with SafePlace for over three years and makes herself available any time she is needed. She enjoys her volunteer position,” said Michelle Dixon-Wall of SafePlace.
Volunteering is important to this volunteer because: “It’s good to give back to your community. I have the time, so I’m able to do that. I love working in the courtroom. It’s just so rewarding when these women get the support they need. It makes you feel good,” Burwell said.
Burwell will receive a plaque from the Volunteer Center and KGY Radio, courtesy of Deer Creek Awards, a division of Color Graphics.
