Anglers fishing most Washington lakes can now fish two rods at once – if they pay a $20 fee.
The $20 fee, called an endorsement, is now available from fishing license sellers or online at fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov. Anglers who already have current fishing licenses can still buy the endorsement.
Fishing with two rods will not be allowed at about 145 lakes and ponds, so anglers should check regulations before going fishing. The list of lakes is available at wdfw.wa.gov/licensing/twopole. Anglers are not allowed to fish two rods at once on streams, rivers and in saltwater.
Money raised from the new fee will go toward producing hatchery fish, which are stocked in lakes and ponds.
