Using a documentary style, the Bainbridge Island resident captures fellow travelers in ambient light, unposed and unaware, according to exhibit organizers. Longstreet’s work has earned awards in numerous publications and venues, including Single Image Merit Award (Black & White Magazine), Single Image Merit Award (Color Magazine) and recently Best-In-Show at the Kitsap Arts Festival.
About the BPA: Started in 1956 as the Bainbridge Light Opera, the group combines theater, dance and music on Bainbridge Island. For the first 37 years, Bainbridge Performing Arts performed wherever they could, including a converted grocery store. The current playhouse was built in 1993 after a $1.2 million fundraising campaign. The facility features a 245-seat theatre.
