The Fort Lewis Freedom Fest: Festivities start at 11 a.m. at Cowan Stadium. Public must enter through the DuPont Gate at Exit 119 off Interstate 5. The Lacey Children’s Entertainment Series presents The Tom Question Show: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Huntamer Park, corner of Seventh Avenue at Woodland Square Loop, Lacey. Juggler, comedian and stilt walker Tom Yahner performs with a lot of help from the audience. Free. 360-491-3860.


“Making Fabulous Perennial Gardens” class: 9:30 to 11 a.m. July 18, Plantasia Nursery & Botanical Gardens, 3938 88th Ave. S.W., Tumwater. The class discusses new perennial flowers and the many types of gardens you can design in shade and full sun. The class includes a tour of the one-acre display garden with 16 different theme gardens. Camp Cascadia: Departs at 8 p.m. July 21 and returns at noon July 24. Youths ages 12 to 17 can spend four days at Elbow Lake swimming, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and playing sports and field games. $185. To register, call Lacey Parks and Recreation at 360-491-0857.
