The Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center at Paradise will be open Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
The Mount Rainier National Park visitor center offers information, exhibits, movies, book sales, food service and gifts for park visitors. The visitor center will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Rangers will lead snowshoe walks at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The walks last about two hours, cover about 1.2 miles and are limited to 25 people, 8 years old and up. Sign-up is first-come, first-served. Do so at the information desk one hour before the walk.
Snowshoes are provided, but a donation of $4 per pair is suggested. Participants should wear layers of warm clothes, hats, mittens, suitable boots, sunglasses and sunscreen.

The snowplay area, just north of the upper parking lot, also will be open. Use only inner tubes, plastic sleds, saucers or other soft sledding devices. An air compressor is available during snow play hours at the upper parking lot restroom.
