Two truck drivers hurt in crash on Interstate 5

A 72-year-old man suffered hip and back injuries and a 56-year-old man suffered internal injuries in a crash Friday on Interstate 5 northbound near 13th Street, according to the Washington State Patrol. They were driving identical semitrailers.

According to the patrol:

Dolores C. Rogriguez, 72, of Angleton, Texas, had been driving a 2003 Peterbilt semitrailer north on I-5. He was stopped on the right shoulder of the road with his truck’s flashers on.

Charles W. Church, 56, of Wenatchee was also driving a 2003 Peterbilt semitrailer north on I-5. His truck left the road and struck Rogriguez’s truck, which rolled onto its right side.

Rogriguez was flown by helicopter to St. Joseph Hospital in Vancouver. Church was flown by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

No charges have been filed. The crash is under investigation.
