Warmer weather means thawing pipes

Although snowfall is possible today, temperatures are expected to continue to rise in the coming week, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.

One result will be the thawing of frozen water in some pipes, and residents are advised to be on the lookout. City of Olympia water customers who suspect their pipes have frozen can call Public Works at 360-753-8333 and have their water turned off before the pipes thaw. Once pipes are repaired, Public Works representatives will come to homes for free to turn water back on and verify that there are no more leaks.
