A Grapeview man suffered a broken arm and head injury just before 6 a.m. Sunday after he fell asleep and his southbound 2006 Chevrolet Colorado struck a stump on state Route 3 about seven miles north of Shelton, the State Patrol reported.

Thomas Moore, 53, was treated at Mason General Hospital in Shelton and then taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He faces a charge of second-degree negligent driving, according to the State Patrol.
