Company raises $14,000 for officers' families

Officials with Stormans Inc., the Olympia company that owns the Ralph's and Bayview Thriftway stores, raised more than $14,000 for the families of the four Lakewood Police officers who were fatally shot last month. The company sent a check for $14,337.80 to the Lakewood Police Independent Guild Charity Fund, co-owner Kevin Stormans said Thursday.

After posting signs seeking donations at the Ralph’s and Bayview Thriftway stores, customers donated $11,470.24 in about a three-week period, followed by a 25 percent match from the company, or $2,867.56, Stormans said.
