Not guilty plea in molestation case

A 52-year-old Bucoda man has pleaded not guilty to molesting a young girl while staying in the Ocean City area in late 2008, according to The Daily World of Aberdeen.

Oscar C. Wisner faces one count of first-degree molestation, which applies to abuse of children younger than 12. According to court records:

The alleged victim’s family began noticing differences in the girl’s behavior early last spring, “having a very negative attitude and talking back.”

“When (the mother) asked what was wrong, (the girl) stated that the defendant had touched her and told her not to tell, and she was tired of living with the guilt.”

Wisner allegedly touched the girl inappropriately and exposed himself to her more than three times.

Investigators found Wisner in Bucoda, and he agreed to speak with police. He confirmed that he had stayed in the Ocean City area but denied touching the girl. Through a series of questions, Wisner allowed that he might have accidentally touched the girl. Then he acknowledged he had encouraged the girl to keep quiet.

“I don’t know why it happened,” court records quote Wisner as saying to investigators.

Wisner remains in the Grays Harbor County Jail with bail set at $200,000.
