Man believed responsible for toilet fires

Montesano police think a 21-year-old Montesano man is responsible for a series of fires set to portable toilets, according to The Daily World of Aberdeen. The fires have plagued the city since July.

Deputy Chief Brett Vance said officers found the man after fire crews responded to a small fire in a paper recycling bin at the city’s Park & Ride site about 9 p.m. Thursday. Lead patrol officer Shane Green and officer James Gillies spotted the man shortly after the fire, Vance said.

Investigators estimated the man had caused between $4,000 and $5,000 in damage; no one was injured in the fires.

The man was booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on suspicion of second-degree arson.
