Tacoma man arrested on I-5 after $660K of Oxycontin found

A 52-year-old Tacoma man was arrested on Interstate 5 in the Ashland, Ore. area on drug charges Friday morning.

Oregon State Police found approximately 8,000 tablets of Oxycontin during a traffic stop for speeding around 6:20 a.m. Officers discovered the tablets concealed inside the 2010 Chevrolet pickup the man was driving.

The drugs are estimated to be worth $660,000. The man was arrested without incident and booked into the Jackson County Jail for unlawful possession, delivery and manufacture of a controlled substance. The investigation is ongoing.
