Car critically injures 70-year-old Bellevue woman standing at bus stop

The Bellevue police said a 70-year-old Bellevue woman standing at a metro bus stop was transported to the hospital in critical condition after a vehicle crossed over the center line and went over the curb and struck her Friday afternoon.

According to the report, a 53-year-old Everett man was driving southbound on 119th Ave. S.E. in the 4700 block when he apparently blacked out behind the wheel before the collision at around 3:45 p.m. The force of the impact sent the pedestrian approximately 50 feet into a neighboring yard.

Police closed down the roadway immediately and medics treated the woman at the scene for multiple injuries. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Police do not know if speed, drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident. The Bellevue Police Department is asking any witnesses to the collision to call them at 425-452-6917.
