A man in his 40s apparently jumped to his death this morning from a parking garage in downtown Tacoma, Tacoma police report.
The incident took place about 10 a.m. at the six-floor Republic parking garage at A and 10th streets.
Tacoma police Officer W. White said a man in his 40s jumped from the top landing of the garage stairway.
He said an elevator repairman was across the street and told police he turned to see the man coming down feet first, White said.

Officers don't believe the man, who had identification on him, was the victim of foul play. "There were no signs of a struggle," he said, adding that police are still investigating.
The man was dressed in what White described as semi-transient attire.
He said there were about two dozen people in the area. The street also was visible from the nearby Russell Investments building.
The street was blocked off while the body was removed and the street was cleaned by firefighters.
