The alleged gunman in Chehalis' drive-by shooting over the weekend made his first appearance in Lewis County Superior Court on Wednesday, following his surrender to Lewis County Jail officials early Tuesday evening.
Ruben Alberto Palomares, 25, of Tenino, is being held on $1 million bail in Lewis County Jail. As the suspected triggerman in Saturday’s midnight drive-by in the 400 block of Southwest William Avenue, about three blocks from Cascade Elementary School, Palomares is being charged with one count of first-degree assault and a Class B felony for a drive-by shooting.
