Police arrest pair wanted in Federal Way burglary, officer-involved shooting

A man and woman wanted in connection with an interrupted burglary that prompted a Federal Way police officer to fire his weapon have been found.

Federal Way police received a tip that the two were in the Hollywood Beach area of Port Angeles on Tuesday. Port Angeles officers went to the area and arrested the pair, Federal Way police reported today.

The two were transported to Federal Way and booked into the King County Jail. The King County Prosecutor's Office had previously charged the man and woman in connection with the Aug. 3 incident.

That afternoon, a Federal Way police officer had been called to a burglary at a home in the 2100 block of Southwest 326th Street. The caller reported that two men were inside the home.

The two men left as the officers arrived. The officer ordered the men to stop. One did; the other ran into a waiting van with a woman in the passenger seat.

Police have said the man drove at the officer, who fired several shots at the vehicle. The van drove off. It was later found abandoned in the city.

It was not known if the gunfire struck anyone. The officer was not injured in the incident.
