Driver arrested in hit-and-run tests 4 times over legal limit

The State Patrol said a Bellevue man was arrested Tuesday for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and hit-and-run after rear-ending a vehicle on Interstate 405 at Coal Creek Parkway.

According to the report:

The 50-year-old man was driving northbound on the highway when he hit the other vehicle. He fled the scene but his vehicle broke down about five miles later. He and his passenger tried to flee on foot, but the Patrol said they didn't get very far due to their high intoxication levels.

The driver of the other car was able to identity the suspect. He was arrested and a breath test administered to him determined his blood alcohol level to be .326, which is four times the legal limit in Washington.

The man was booked into the King County Jail on charges of hit and run and DUI.
