Silverdale man, 22, arrested on suspicion of molesting teen girl he met via MySpace

PORT ORCHARD - A 22-year-old Silverdale man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of molesting a 14-year-old girl he met via MySpace.

A Port Orchard man told police his 14-year-old daughter had been getting text messages from the suspect, including one in which he asked her to meet him behind Givens Community Center. The daughter told police the suspect had been dating a girl she knew, who also is 14. The daughter said she'd seen the suspect put his hand down the other girl's pants.

But the other girl told police that the first girl had sex with the 22-year-old many times, according to a police report.

Police did not find the suspect at the appointed meeting place, but located him later and he came to the police station.

He confirmed that he had met the first 14-year-old on MySpace and that they had been getting together at various locations, including Cedar Heights Junior High School and a park in Port Orchard.

The suspect told police he thought the girl was 18. When asked if he knew where the girl went to school, he said yes, but he became uncomfortable and asked for a lawyer when asked to name the school, the report says.

The suspect was booked into Kitsap County jail on suspicion of third degree child molestation. Bail was set at $100,000.
