Transient sex offender registers in Mason County

The Mason County Sheriff's Office is releasing the following information regarding 40-year-old Kyle Shane Murner.

Murner recently moved back to Mason County from Kitsap County as homeless and is required to register as a transient sex offender due to a July, 1994 conviction of 16 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, age three years and younger and one count of annoy/molest children, in Eureka, California.

This conviction stems from Murner, at age 24, having sex with a 14-year-old girl on multiple occasions and sexually molesting a four-year-old little girl on one occasion. Both girls were children of friends and were not related to Murner, but the sexual assaults occurred while Murner was living in the same residence as the children.

Murner is assessed by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office as a level 1, but raised to a Level 3 Sex Offender because of his transient status. Murner is not on any supervision and his only requirement is to register as a sex offender.

He has given his address within Mason County as transient between Shelton and Allyn. He is described as a white male, six feet tall, 160 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.
