Tacoma police were searching for a man who robbed a Sixth Avenue convenience store at gunpoint Monday night.
The robbery was reported just before 6:30 p.m. at the Stop in Grocery, 3908 Sixth Ave. The man wielded a gun and demanded the clerk empty the cash register, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.
After the robbery, the suspect fled the store. A police dog conducted a track but did not find the man.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his early 20s, 5 feet 9 and about 175 pounds, Fulghum said. He had black hair and wore a black beanie-style cap, black hooded sweatshirt, white T-shirt and blue shorts.
