Man arrested for DUI, vehicular assault after Seattle car crash

Seattle police said a man was arrested on the suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular assault after he ran a red light and caused a crash that sent two people to the hospital.

According to the report, he was driving eastbound on S. Ryan Way when he failed to stop for the light and smashed into a vehicle driving northbound on Martin Luther King Way S. The two occupants in the other car were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries including a fractured pelvis.

The roadway was closed until around 4 a.m. this morning while investigators worked the scene. The suspect was booked into King County Jail.
