Snohomish Co. deputy charged with voyeurism

A corrections deputy with the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is accused of watching a female inmate change clothes in jail.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said Friday that 52-year-old William Elliott has been on paid administrative leave since June 25. Prosecutors charged him last week with voyeurism.

The incident happened June 10 at the Snohomish County Jail, which is run by the sheriff's office.

Hover says another corrections deputy witnessed Elliott looking at a female inmate as she changed clothes in an adjoining room. She says that deputy reported Elliott to his supervisors.

Elliott, of Snohomish, has been a corrections deputy for more than 22 years.
