Man, 54, dies after being thrown off motorcycle into light pole

The Seattle police said a 54-year-old man was killed after he was thrown off his motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve off an exit ramp around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

According to the report, he was riding southbound on the Alaskan Way Viaduct and took the southbound exit ramp to First Ave. S. The bike collided with the curb and skidded along it for approximately 95 feet. The victim was then ejected from the motorcycle, struck a light pole, flew over the rail and landed on the roadway below the exit ramp.

The Seattle Fire Department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
