Spokane County deputy involved in shooting co-owns sex toys business

SPOKANE, Wash. – A Spokane County sheriff's deputy under investigation for fatally shooting a Spokane Valley pastor is now the subject of a probe involving his ownership of a sex toys business.

Officials say Deputy Brian Hirzel failed to disclose that he and his wife co-own a business that sells sex toys online. Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich says Hirzel could face disciplinary measures if investigators determine he’s taken an active role in the company’s operations. Department policy requires deputies to alert the sheriff about any outside employment.

Idaho business records show Hirzel and his wife own Vanessa Allure, which specializes in sex toys.

Hirzel is involved in the fatal shooting last month of pastor Wayne Scott Creach.
