Northwest Yeshiva tagged with swastikas

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. – The only Jewish high school in Washington state was defaced Thursday night with anti-Semitic graffiti that included swastikas and references to gas chambers.

The Seattle Times reports that the walls of the Northwest Yeshiva High School on Mercer Island were vandalized with orange, blue and gray paint, and had arrows labeled "this way to the gas chambers."

Rabbi Bernie Fox, the head of the school, says synagogues are frequently tagged during Yom Kippur, the Jewish holiday that begins Friday evening.

School officials and police are reviewing security tape.

Fox says they will try to clear the paint before Friday's service.
