A 25-year-old Bremerton man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center early Sunday morning following a one-car accident on state Route 3 in Kitsap County.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the man was driving his 1995 Toyota Corolla northbound on state Route 3 when the car left the roadway around milepost 29 at 12:19 a.m. The car went into a ditch, struck a culvert and reentered the roadway.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt.
The highway was closed for three hours and 35 minutes to investigate the crash. The State Patrol believes alcohol was involved in the crash, and the driver will face charges for DUI and operating a vehicle without a valid license.
