A search is under way in Kittitas County for a Tacoma woman who did not return from a day hike on Saturday.
Kittitas County Search and Rescue received a call at 12:20 a.m. today from the family of 50-year-old Natalya Manko. The family said that the experienced hiker was overdue from a hike in the Lake Ingalls area, Kittitas County Undersheriff Clay Myers told The Daily Record of Ellensburg.
"Ms. Manko is said to be a very experienced hiker who has been in the area before," Myers said. "Family indicate that she did not bring her overnight camping gear."
Search and Rescue is initially sending ground teams to search for Manko. Using a helicopter in the search will depend on the weather, Myers said.
