Seattle police said a woman was accosted and robbed by a group of men as she was walking on the stairs leading from Harborview Medical Center in Seattle toward Yesler Way Tuesday night.
In an interview at the hospital around 7:40 p.m., the victim told officers that she was approached by three or four males. She said one of the assailants displayed a handgun and then hit her in the head with it, knocking her to the ground. He took her cellphone after unsuccessfully trying to steal her backpack.
The victim was able to run to Harborview to seek medical aid. She did not sustain any serious injuries. The suspects fled on foot and police were not able to locate them after an extensive search in the area.
The suspects are described as black males, ages 18-21 years old. The suspect with the gun was described as 5 feet 9 inches, with a thin build and wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
