BELLINGHAM - Several law enforcement agencies searched a north Bellingham home for illegal firearms, ammunition and tools used to modify firearms Tuesday, Nov. 9.
Officers served a search warrant from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives after 10 a.m. at the home in the 1200 block of W. Bakerview Road, across from the shopping center that includes a Fred Meyer store.
The house came to the attention of ATF during an ongoing investigation into illegal firearms and narcotics, said Cheryl Bishop, special agent and spokeswoman for the ATF Seattle field division.
Bishop didn't know if anyone had been arrested in the search, but she said there was a previous arrest of an individual associated with the residence.
ATF and the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force conducted the search with the help of the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
