EVERETT, Wash. – A Snohomish County sheriff's sergeant has been placed on paid administrative leave while the department investigates whether he had sex in his patrol car - while his two-day radio was on.
The Seattle Times reports that the officer was on duty Sept. 19 when dispatchers and others hear a brief transmission of what sounded like a woman moaning. The newspaper says a dispatcher asked the officer to check his mike, and he responded that everything was OK.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Rebecca Hover says it is conducting an internal investigation into allegations that the officer "engaged in an inappropriate romantic relationship while on duty."
She adds that it is not a criminal investigation but an investigation of alleged misconduct.
