Wanted felon in custody after crashing car into Federal Way home

A vehicle crashed into a home in Federal Way early Friday. The impact was strong enough to knock out the driver's false teeth, according to KIRO-TV. One of their photographers spotted them on the lawn.

The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. in the 30400 block of 8th Avenue South near St. Vincent's Catholic Church. Police believe the driver failed to navigate a turn, lost control and slammed into an unoccupied bedroom of the residence. No one in the house was hurt.

The 27-year-old driver had fled on foot when police arrived at the scene but they caught him about 15 blocks away. Police told KIRO he was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.

Police said the man, whose last known address is Federal Way, has two outstanding warrants including a felony warrant out of the King County Sheriff's Office for a violation of a court order and a misdemeanor warrant out of Federal Way for a domestic violence malicious mischief.

Pending the evaluation of his injuries, police said he will booked into the King County Jail on the felony warrant and a felony hit-and-run. He may also face possible automobile theft charges. Police said the car he was driving was not registered in his name. Police are trying to determine if the vehicle may have been stolen but not yet reported.
