Pasco man accused of sexually abusing neighbor girl

A 47-year-old Pasco man is accused of sexually abusing a young neighbor girl for three years before she moved away.

Gustavo Gonzales is charged in Franklin County Superior Court with first-degree child rape. He's being held in the Franklin County jail on $100,000 bail.

The sexual assaults were reported Nov. 17 when Pasco police were called to Lourdes Medical Center, court documents said.

Investigators learned that the girl told her grandmother that Gonzales sexually abused her on several occasion between June 2002 and June 2005, documents said.

The incidents stopped when the girl and her family moved.

The girl was interviewed at Kids Haven at the Sexual Assault Response Center and said Gonzales would take her to his bedroom for the assaults. She also reported that he had her watch a pornographic movie that made her feel gross.

Gonzales was contacted by Pasco detectives on Dec. 13 and allegedly admitted to taking the girl to his room two or three times, documents said.

However, Gonzales said he only touched her with his hands, and he did not rape her, documents said.

He also said she entered the room once when he was watching a Playboy-type movie and stayed for about two minutes, documents said.

Gonzales allegedly said he only touched the girl when he was under the influence of cocaine and "felt guilty" later when he was sober because he knew it was wrong.
