6 women arrested in theft ring that targeted Tacoma Mall stores

Tacoma police broke up a large organized theft ring from Portland, Ore., over the weekend that targeted stores at the Tacoma Mall.

Police said nine women descended on the mall and began shoplifting until a theft at one store was interrupted. The women scattered, and police pursued.

Six of the women were caught and $7,000 in stolen items was retrieved. The women were booked into the Pierce County Jail on theft charges.

Police said the stolen goods are being sorted out and the case is still under investigation.
