Patrol car stolen by fleeing man in Clark County

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Clark County Sheriff's office says one of its patrol cars was stolen by a man fleeing from police. The cruiser was later recovered.

The sheriff's office says that a deputy stopped a vehicle on a routine traffic stop around 2 a.m. Sunday when the driver ran away. The deputy chased on foot, but the man circled around and got into the deputy's patrol car and drove off.

The deputy fired one shot as the man took his car.

The patrol car was later spotted in a nearby neighborhood. Tracking dogs and officers were unable to find the suspect.
