2 Tri-Citans accused of drug possession after police smell pot

KENNEWICK - Two people were arrested on drug charges Tuesday after a tow truck driver alerted police to a stolen license plate.

The driver with Action Recovery was repossessing a vehicle when he saw it had a license plate taken from a state Department of Corrections vehicle, Kennewick police said.

Officers ended up detaining one man at 1201 W. Grand Ronde Ave., Apt. C, and then heard another man and woman arguing inside the apartment. Police smelled marijuana and got a search warrant for the home.

Guns and drugs later were seized, police said.

Shannon M. McFadden, 27, of Kennewick, and Eduardo Felix, 25, of Pasco, were arrested and booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine.

The license plate theft is under investigation.
