Two men arrested in Bellingham auto recycler burglary attempt

Two men were arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary after setting off an alarm at an auto-recycling yard early Thursday morning, Dec. 30, according to the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies were called out to Gundie’s Auto Recycling, 1283 Mount Baker Highway, at about 12:30 a.m. for a burglary in progress.

An alarm had been set off and employees discovered that someone had entered the secure recycling yard.

Deputies and Bellingham Police officers set up a perimeter. With the assistance of the Bellingham Police dog, deputies found two men in the yard who admitted to making an unsuccessful burglary attempt two nights before and coming back to try again, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Cody Moran, 21, and Kioki Frescas, 19, were booked into Whatcom County Jail on suspicion of second-degree burglary.
