Renton police are looking for an armed robber who stole a tip jar from a Subway restaurant earlier this month and is suspected in four additional robberies in the South Sound.
The man entered the sandwich shop at 235 Rainier Avenue South about 8:25 p.m. on Dec. 6, pulled a revolver from his waistband and ordered an employee to open the cash register. When the employee couldn’t get the cash register open, the robber took the tip jar and left.
He is described as a light-skinned African-American, just over 6-feet tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black beanie with a distinctive white jacket with dark patterned sleeves and dark stripes around the collar and wrists.
Information about the other four robberies he is believed to have been involved in has not been released. Police said he worked with an accomplice in two of the robberies.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Keyes at 425-430-7522.
