KENNEWICK - A Kennewick firefighter has been accused of sexually abusing a child.
Ryan M. Gladstone, 34, of Kennewick, was arrested Thursday by Kennewick police on suspicion of first-degree child molestation, police said.
Details about the allegations were not released by police except that the victim is a young girl and the incident reportedly happened in Kennewick on Saturday.
Gladstone, a Kennewick firefighter since August 2007, is being held in the Franklin County jail because he used to work in the Benton County jail.
He last worked as a Benton County corrections officer in September 2007, sheriff's officials said. It wasn't immediately known how long he worked in the jail.
Gladstone has been separated from his wife, Lindsy, since July 2009, and the two are going through a divorce. His wife sought a restraining order against him last Friday, alleging he had been getting high when his son and daughter were with him, Benton County court documents said.
Lindsy Gladstone said he also has made "very bizarre and disturbing comments," documents said.
A temporary protection order was issued against Gladstone on Friday. A hearing for a permanent order is scheduled for Tuesday in Benton County Superior Court.
