BELLINGHAM - A 20-year-old Bellingham woman suffered extensive facial injuries after being hit with a glass bottle during a fight early Sunday, Feb. 13.
At about 12:30 a.m., the woman was walking past a fight in a parking lot outside a house party in the 1300 block of 22nd Street, Bellingham Police spokesman Mark Young said.
The woman tried to intervene to break up the fight when she was hit in the face with a large, glass vodka bottle and was knocked unconscious, Young said. It is not yet known if the bottle was thrown randomly into the crowd or if she was hit purposefully.
After regaining consciousness, she went to the emergency room at St. Joseph hospital, where a nurse notified police at about 6:30 a.m.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Bellingham Police Department at 778-8800, and ask for Detective Mark Green.
