KENNEWICK - A pizza delivery driver admitted adding tips to card purchases when he reportedly felt the customers had not treated him nicely.
Matthew Robert Blatman, 21, of Kennewick, pleaded guilty to forgery and was sentenced to 30 days in jail.
He worked for Round Table Pizza in Kennewick when he pocketed about $70 in unauthorized tips.
Restaurant supervisors first learned of the forgery Nov. 30 when a customer called to say a $10 tip had been added to her debit card purchase three days prior, court documents said. The woman said her husband had tipped the driver, Blatman, with cash and didn't give him permission to add a tip to the receipt, documents said.
Round Table officials then contacted other customers who had paid with debit or credit cards when Blatman was the delivery driver. They found several others, including a $15 tip Nov. 17.
