Oregon State Police say a trooper's traffic stop led to the discovery of 14 pounds of marijuana and the arrest of two Washington residents.
Sgt. Tanya Henderson says a trooper on Saturday night stopped a rental car breaking the speed limit on Interstate 5 near Mile 11 in Jackson County.
An investigation with a drug detection dog led to the discovery of the marijuana in car's trunk. State police estimate the value of the seized marijuana at $35,000.
The 45-year-old driver, Suzanne McDonald-Halverson, and the passenger, 52-year-old Rickey Halverson, were charged with unlawful possession and distribution of a controlled substance. They were held at the Jackson County Jail.
Both are from Tacoma.
