PASCO, Wash. - The Franklin County sheriff says a SWAT team responding to a report of a suicidal armed man in a Pasco, Wash., home sent in a robot that helped officers determine the man was dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Sheriff Richard Lathim said the man showed up Tuesday afternoon at his ex-wife's home and soon grabbed a gun from her bedroom, saying something like "This is it."
The sheriff says the woman fled and called 911.
The Tri-City Herald reports that deputies were unable to reach the unidentified man by phone. His ex-wife said she thought he was suicidal and would shoot himself.
