A Kitsap County sheriff’s spokesman said drug use is suspected in the two vehicle head-on crash that killed a park ranger Friday night near Seabeck.
Sgt. Ken Dickinson said the 44-year-old ranger was apparently driving home from work when a Ford Thunderbird crossed the center line and collided with his car head-on.
The 35-year-old man driving the Thunderbird was arrested for suspicion of vehicular homicide. His bail was set at $500,000.
Dickinson said the initial investigation indicated narcotics were involved, but final toxicology results are pending. The driver and a passenger suffered minor injuries, Dickinson said.
The identities of those involved were not immediately available.
