Deutsche Telekom AG, Europe biggest telephone company, is close to deciding whether to sell its U.K. unit or to fold it into a joint venture, a person involved in the discussions said.
The company has been studying options for its T-Mobile UK unit since February and plans a decision soon. Vodafone Group PLC and Telefonica SA made informal offers to buy it for about $6.6 billion, and Deutsche Telekom is in talks with France Telecom SA for a possible joint venture of their U.K. assets.
