The Seattle Mariners have named Alaska Airlines the ball club's "official airline."
What does that mean, exactly? The SeaTacbased airline will donate frequent flier miles to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every home run and grand slam Mariners players hit this season.
“As a longtime Mariners sponsor, Alaska Airlines is excited to enhance its partnership to include a program that will benefit children with life-threatening medical conditions,” said Joe Sprague, the airline’s vice president of marketing.
The airline has been a sponsor of the foundation since 1985. Each year, the airline gives the local chapter 350 tickets to send children and their families to their wish destinations. The donated miles help the foundation provide the trips.
